Jeremiah Morrow Bridge Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the Jeremiah Morrow Southbound Bridge. It will temporarily have northbound traffic moving across it until the Northbound Bridge is completed in 2016.

The $88.1 million replacement project began in 2010 and is expected to be completed by the fall of 2016. The existing deck truss bridges are being replaced with a concrete cast-in-place segmental box structure. The space inside the bridge is large enough to fit a city bus. That size can only be accomplished by building a support pier, then expanding on each side.

The current structure is Ohio’s tallest bridge, standing at 239 feet above the Little Miami Rover and the Little Miami Scenic Trail, and carries Interstate 71 between Lebanon and Wilmington.
